The Nature of Things: Visions of the
Future on DVD
Recently Joanne from Saskatchewan wrote, "what if your subscribers sent
in their ideas about how to improve their environment?"
She must have read my mind because that's exactly what
I’ve been dying to show you — how we've been making major improvements to our
website.
Finding everything you need to know, from learning about our current
campaigns, to simple actions, to (Joanne's going to love this) sharing your stories and solutions, has never been
easier.
Visit beta.davidsuzuki.org and see the make over for yourself!
Hang out, look around, and be sure to tell us what you think. http://beta.davidsuzuki.org/
In this issue find out how you can help keep our oceans healthy, and why
David Suzuki might be calling you if you call the Prime Minister.
Want to help your favorite restaurant win new customers AND help save the world from runaway climate
change?
As part of the David Suzuki Foundation's Copenhagen campaign we're
participating in a letter writing campaign on Nov. 18 called "Eat, Drink and Save the Planet."
Invite your
favorite eatery to host an event called Eat,
Drink and Save the Planet on November 18th.The
concept is simple: enjoy a delicious meal and write a
letter to our Prime Minster.
Here’s a plan of
action:
• Make the
arrangements with your favorite restaurant.
• Call your friends, put the word out to your networks and meet them at the specified time and place.
• Bring copies of sample letters (you can usethis letter,
or make your own), pads of paper and lots of pens.
• Ask people to personalize the letters (these have more impact).
• When you’re done, make three copies of each letter.
Send the main
letter to:
Prime Minister Stephen Harper House of Commons
Ottawa, Ontario
CanadaK1A 0A6
(Letters to the
House of Commons can be mailed postage-free!)
Send copies to:
Michael Ignatieff, Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada
Gilles Duceppe, Leader of the Bloc Québecois
Jack Layton, Leader of the New Democratic Party
Remember to take
pictures and send them to me with your stories tocommunityleaders@davidsuzuki.org. Include the
number of letters
you helped send to Stephen Harper - we want to reach our goal.
But this morning we woke to an even
biggerannouncement. David Suzuki won the
“alternative Nobel Prize”, which will be presented in Sweden this December.
It's great to see Dr. David Suzuki recognized for years of hard
work on the
international stage.
